" A gorgeous golden dream of a a building spread over three levels. Like the Samode Haveli Jaipur, the palace was once owned by the Rawal of Samode and is now one of India's most prestigious historic hotels".

" The palace boasts of the finest diwan-i-khas ( private audience room ) in India. All the original wall and ceiling paintings and mirrorwork are intact and restored".

-Sheva Fruitman-

"Samode Haveli, a family townhouse with all of the original details and lots of Western comforts. Samode Haveli is a wonderful place to stay while you're in Jaipur. Stay in the traditionally decorated Maharani or Maharajah suites and you'll be treated like one of the family".

VOGUE LIVING
-Juliet Fitzgerald-

"With its famous Sheesh Mahal or Hall or Mirror, this is one of the most well-restored palaces in India. Samode is set into a hillside, so the palace appears to be climbing upwards. Based around the series of courtyards, the walls are covered with intricate inlays and frescoes. This is the one of the few hotels where simply being in a sitting room transports one back to the heyday of the maharajahs. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished, particularly the suites over looking the small picturesque village below".

Seattle Times Newspaper
- Kristin Jackson-

"Samode has such evocative style that it was used as a main set for " Far Pavilions," a BBC television mini-series based on a romantic novel of life in India. I felt as if I'd stepped into an Arabian Nights fantasy".

"At one end of Samode's garden, 50 tent-cabins have been erected for guests. They're tents with a difference - the size of a standard hotel room and with carpeted floors, electric lights, comfortable beds and draped in rich brocades. Each has an attached tiled bathroom and a front porch on which to sip afternoon tea".

"You can have a completely relaxed holiday where you do nothing but wander around the palace and the garden, just soaking in the atmosphere and allowing yourself to be pampered, or you can do things as well. You can explore the surrounding countryside on a camel, stopping for a sumptuous lunch under shady imli trees".
